| The 56th Annual Meeting of the WMA was scheduled for Montreal on September 23-26, 2001...210 were registered to attend. On September 11, 2001, the World Trade Center twin towers were destroyed by terrorist actions. For the first time in the Association's history, an Annual Meeting was canceled.
